When a ledger integrity assessment is enough

Guidance on choosing a ledger integrity assessment instead of a full forensic transaction review from Appnet Bridge.

Full forensic transaction review is expensive in time and attention. Sometimes the right first move is a ledger integrity assessment: sampling posting discipline, cut-off, and clearing accounts to decide whether deeper tracing is justified.

Good candidates for the shorter assessment

  • Recent system migration with rising suspense balances
  • New controller inherited messy journals and wants a map
  • Audit committee wants a pre-read before commissioning a larger review

Poor candidates

  • Active allegation of diversion naming specific payments
  • Counsel already drafting pleadings around contested transfers
  • Regulator or lender has demanded a reconstruction of named flows

In those cases, start with the flagship review or with dispute support documentation under solicitor instruction.

How we decide with you

On the first call we ask what triggered the concern, whether named transactions exist, and what decision the findings must support. If the answers are vague, we usually propose the integrity assessment first.
